Week #6 Update
We are beginning week #6 of our 9 week season. Last week was busy with a great tubing trip, a swim meet, and a lake day. Unfortunately, we came up short against Village Green, but we are seeing progress with many of our swimmers and look forward to seeing them again at City Meet. Keep up the hard work! This week will be exciting as well with our lap-a-thon and pool party on Sunday, July 3rd, and our first away swim meet on Thursday against Gulf Park.
Lap-a-thon and pool party
On Sunday we will host a lap-a-thon and pool party from 5-7 pm. Swimmers will have 30 minutes to complete as many laps as possible. We will have BBQ and hot dogs for sale along with a lemonade stand and a great time for fellowship. We need several parents to volunteer to help us count laps, check-in swimmers, help with the concessions, and assist in various ways. Let us know if you can help!
Gulf Park Meet
On Thursday we swim our first away meet of the season at Gulf Park. The pool is located at 528 Pensacola Rd NW 37923. I would encourage you to follow I-140 to Dutchtown Road and avoid I-40. Check this route out on your favorite mapping app. Warm-ups will begin at 5:00 and encourage you to get there at 4:45. Please RSVP on-line until Sunday at 6:00 or sign the boards at the pool. We will have a complete list available for inspection on Tuesday at practice. Please help us make sure we have your intentions correct so that we can enter our swimmers in their best events.
You may want to bring a pop-up tent and bag chairs. We will be set-up in the grass with not much shade and it will be hot. Parking will be limited so you may want to give yourself a few extra minutes.
We will have a clerk of course so look for the orange tents.
Pre-Competitive Swimmers
We want all pre-competitive swimmers to have an opportunity to swim in the swim meets when they are ready. Check with Coach Pam to determine your child's readiness to participate.
Most Spirited award
We will be awarding the most spirited swimmer award after each meet since we know that we swim better when we have the support of our teammates. Please encourage your swimmer to cheer for their teammates, especially during the relays. This makes a difference.
Looking forward to a great week! Go Green Meadow!
