City Meet Announcements
The excitement is building for city meet! Lots of announcements- please be sure you read them if you are going to the meet!
PEP RALLY is tomorrow night. Come ready to make posters, do some cheers, and get excited for the meet. There will be practice for those of you that want to swim a little. This is our LAST PRACTICE Of the season.
WARM UP TIMES:
Please be at the pool 30 minutes prior to scheduled warm up times.
Friday and Saturday: Warm ups are from 8:10am-8:25am.
Sunday: Warm ups are from 7:40am-7:55am.
PARKING is free and located at the Metron/Kingston Building next to Tyson Park (2309 Kingston Pike.) It is approximately one mile from the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. Shuttle buses will be provided from 7:00 a.m. until the end of the meet between parking and the pool. The swimmer and their family will have unlimited use of the shuttle service throughout the weekend. There will be two designated unloading stops near the team tents. In order to minimize waiting for shuttle busses at the parking lot on Friday, it is strongly recommended that cars unload passengers, coolers, and any other needed gear at the drop off areas near the pool and then go park and board the shuttle bus. On Saturday and Sunday, this is also recommended as long as children who are dropped off are left with a responsible adult.
Drop-off and Unloading will take place in two areas:
1) SAC Tents: right lane of Andy Holt Avenue in front of the Student Aquatic Center will be used for unloading. NO PARKING or leaving the car will be permitted there.
2) AJAC Tents: turn onto UT Drive and use the lane for loading/unloading.
ABSOLUTELY NO UNLOADING in front of the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. The street is not wide enough and officers will write tickets to persons who block traffic by stopping there. UT Drive will be open all day for loading and unloading. The shuttle will also stop here.
Our Tent is in the same location as last year. We have attached the GKAISA map for where our tent will be. If you are familiar with UT and the aquatic center, our tent is right in front of the entrance to the T-Rec center, behind the old student aquatic center. We will have a large tent rented from Anderson Rentals, but there is additional room for more shade if you want to bring a tent as well. Be sure to bring chairs and games to pass the time!
We have attached our City Meet Survival Guide for new parents (or just a refresher for older parents). It has some good information in it for how to know when your kids are swimming, how the meet works, and also what kinds of things to bring.
There are still worker positions. Please sign up to help work!
Let us know if you have any questions at all!
