Tomorrow is our last day of Practice and CITY MEET is this weekend! Please see below for a list of items as we close out the season! 

City Meet Volunteers: Volunteer jobs have been posted online for city meet. We are required to fill these positions at the meet. Please sign up to help volunteer at the meet. If we cannot fill our volunteer requirements, our swimmers are penalized at City Meet and we don't want that to happen! Volunteers get access onto the deck at the meet, and all positions allow you to go on deck to watch your child swim. 

Practices: Our last practice for the season is on Wednesday (morning and evening practices as usual). For the 11 & older swimmers going to the meet on Friday, Coach Matt will host an "11 & Over Shake Out" on Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30. It will be a light warm-up to get prepared for their swims on Friday. There will be no other practices on Thursday as all of our coaches will be at City Meet. 

City Meet Tent Map: Tent Map Our tent is located on the side of Allan Jones Pool between Allan Jones and the Student Aquatic Center. When you arrive, please set up all chairs in rows so that the entire tent is usable and accessible. We have limited space and want to make sure all kids are able to sit in the shade and walk throughout the tent. Our tent is very convenient to the Clerk of Course tents. 

Warm Up Times: Thursday- Warm-ups will begin at 1:20. Please be at the tent by 1:00. We will walk into the pool as a group around 1:10 prior to warm-ups beginning. 

Friday- Warm-ups will begin at 7:40am. Please be at the tent by 7:20am. 

Parking Pass pickup: If you ordered parking passes for City Meet, they are available for pickup at the pool during swim practice times. Board members will be available to collect your payment and get you your passes. If you did not pre-order passes, there are limited passes available for purchase at the meet for $25. 

City Meet Theme: The theme for City meet is CHRISTMAS IN JULY! Let's see your most festive attire this weekend! 

T-shirts and Pictures: If you ordered team pictures, they are in the office for pickup. Digital photos were emailed from our photographer last week to the email address you recorded at purchase. We have some families that have not picked up their t-shirts yet that were ordered back in May. Please stop by the office and pick up your t-shirts if you have not yet done so. 

Banquet: Don't forget to RSVP to the banquet next week- Tuesday, July 28th!

Additional City Meet Information:

This year, GKAISA will switch from using Twitter for Clerk of Course event calling to GroupMe. The software in use will connect to GroupMe, allowing them to send announcements for any swimmers missing from CoC after the third call. Clerk of Course Updates for 2026

GKAISA is implementing some updates to hopefully improve Clerk of Course.  They will be testing a new software app to help manage the operation. There are also changes to clerk of course entry and layout. 

What to expect:

Clerk of Course will be laid out differently this year than in years past. There will be a single entrance located on the far East side near the closed UT Drive. All swimmers will enter Clerk of Course here and only swimmers, coaches, and volunteers will be allowed in. They will be using a new piece of software to check each swimmer into CoC, giving us a clear, real-time understanding of who has entered and who is missing. Swimmers will then enter the aptly named 'Chaos Tent'. This tent will be divided into a girls' side and a boys' side. Swimmers will remain in this tent until such time as their Event is announced for seating in the actual Clerk of Course tents. As in the past, fans and soaker hoses will be deployed throughout CoC to try to keep our athletes cool and comfortable. Additional fencing will be in place to further separate the athletes from the crowds that often gather around CoC.

Volunteer check-in will be located near the entrance to CoC and all volunteer meetings will take place within the CoC tents.

Expectations of teams and athletes:

- Athletes should arrive at CoC with everything they need to swim their race. Goggles, caps, last minute coaching, etc. Parents will not be able to reach them once they enter CoC.

- Relays must arrive together and will not be allowed into CoC until all 4 members of the team are present. Coaches and Parents must help coordinate swimmers into their 4 person relay teams and ensure all 4 members are present at the entrance to CoC.

- Good behavior is expected. Below expectation behavior will be addressed and the athlete will be removed from CoC and the meet if necessary. Good behavior will be recognized and rewarded.

- Chaos Coordinators will be stationed at the entrance to CoC and throughout the tents. They will be available to assist and answer questions. Look for them in bright orange shirts if needed.

- Large teams with multiple relays entered into any one event must plan to have coaches in Clerk of Course to assist. If you know you have an athlete that will struggle to comply with these rules a coach should plan to be with that athlete in the tent.
