GMST vs. Concord Hills:
This Thursday, June 18th, we will have our first dual meet of the season against Concord Hills at home! We are hoping to have at least 150 swimmers at every home meet because every single swimmer is important to our team spirit and score! Make sure to declare for the meet on the website by Tuesday the 16th at noon and also sign-up for any open volunteer positions! We need volunteers and we can’t do it without you!
If we get 150 swimmers signed up, all swimmers will be entered into a raffle where 2 swimmers from each age group will be selected, to pie a coach of their choice on Friday at practice!
The meet theme for this week is HAWAIIAN!
Team Pictures:
Team pictures are this Thursday, June 18th! The meet starts at 5:30. We have team pictures prior to the meet, with individual pictures starting at 3:30 for anyone who would like to have those taken. The Team picture will be at 4:00. Please have all swimmers at the pool by 3:45 so that we can be set up and ready to swim immediately following the team picture. Warm-ups will begin at 4:30.
Personal Bests:
This year we are aiming for 1,000 personal bests as a team! For every 250 personal bests we will have a reward as a team!
- 250: Coin Dive
- 500: Duct tape Coach Nathaniel to the structure
- 750: Games Practice
- 1,000: Pizza party
Volunteer Shoutouts:
A huge thank you to ALL of our volunteers - we seriously can’t do this without you! This last week we wanted to highlight two in particular: Kaye Davis and Dave Ratliff!
Meet Apps:
There are 3 apps that are helpful (although not required) for this season's meets. We introduced a new timing system last year that will help with your swimmers times AND has some really cool live results features-- Time Drops Live! is the app. We will be using Swimtopia for our meet entries so you can see what your kids are swimming and their results, and X (@greenmeadowswim) for event calls and other announcements.
**PRACTICE TIMES**
Practice Update:
There will be NO PRACTICE on July 3rd due to the start of a holiday weekend. Enjoy the long weekend with your family!
City Meet:
It's never too early to bring up our Championship meet, which will be July 23-25 at UT. We want to be able to take all of our swimmers to that meet. In order to qualify, swimmers must participate in 2 official Dual Meets or Smoky Mountain this summer. Please consider signing up for some of our dual meets so that you can qualify for City Meet!
See you at the pool this week!
