    GMST Week 4

Happy Father's Day! I hope everyone has had a great weekend celebrating their fathers and all that they do. We had a good meet last week against Village Green with 125 personal best times. That brings the season total to 327 best times. If we reach 400 at the next meet, Coach Sam will be duct-taped to the structure on Fun Friday.

Pokey's Order: The second round of Pokey's orders are delivered and are in the office. Make sure you pick it up while at practice.

KRC Meet: We have our first away meet of the season on Tuesday. The deadline to register for this meet is today at noon. More information regarding the meet will be sent out tomorrow, but swimmers will need to be at the pool by 4:45, with warmups beginning at 5:00 pm. The theme for the meet is Hawaiian.

10 & Under Fun Meet - During AM practice on Thursday: We will have a mock meet during practice on Thursday morning for our 9:45, 10:45, and 11:30 practices. This will be an opportunity for swimmers to try the meet experience and get the chance to race for ribbons.

Heat Winners and Candy: Starting at the KRC meet, coaches will be giving out heat winners to our swimmers. The prizes for the heat winners will be on theme with that meet. For example, the meet on Tuesday is Hawaiian. If a swimmer wins a race, they will receive a lei from a coach. Coaches will also be carrying around a bucket of candy. When a swimmer finishes their race, they must ask the timer for their time. Once they do this, they should come to a coach who has a bucket of candy and report their time. After they have done this, they will receive a piece of candy.

Swimmers of the Week: The coaching staff met on Friday after Field Day and determined that the swimmers of the week are the following:

Ian Wojakiewicz, Cora Hardy, Mia Conner, Gunner McBrayer

These swimmers stood out to the coaching staff through their positive encouragement for teammates, work ethic, and team spirit. Great job guys! Make sure to stop by the office at practice to get your prize and certificate.

Stroke Clinics w/Coach Madi: This week we will stick with our Breaststroke focus with Coach Matt, while adding some beginner butterfly with Coach Madi and Coach Carson.

    Butterfly is: 12:15-1:00

    Breaststroke is: 12:35-1:20

DUE TO SPACE: If you sign up for the advanced clinic, you must be able to swim BR legally. If you sign up for the butterfly clinic, you must be 8+ and swim Fr/Back.

There will also be a starts and turns clinic from 1:05-1:50 for anyone looking to practice before the meet against KRC or the 10&U meet this week!

    $20/swimmer!
