Week 1: More information
Hi GMST Family-
We are 3 days in and we haven't let this cold weather stop us! Hopefully your kids are finding their groups and getting acquainted to the team. The first couple of days are always chaotic and take a lot of adjustments from everyone until we find our groove. Your kids will start getting the hang of it and our coaches will keep making adjustments as well as we move through the season!
A couple of items we wanted to send out this week for housekeeping:
Coaches Meals: Our coaches will be staying after practice every Friday to debrief about the week and plan for the next week. They will also be working on meet entries on some Fridays and some other days during the season. We'd love to provide them with lunch so they can get right to work after practice without having to scatter to find food. If you are willing and able to sign up to supply a lunch for our coaches, they would very much appreciate it. Feel free to team up with other parents as well. These are low-key lunches, so anything works! We generally have around 10 coaches at lunch. Coaches Lunch Sign ups
Stroke Clinics: Some of our coaches will be offering some stroke clinics on concentrated topics throughout the season. Coach Madi will be leading them and spots are limited. Each 45 minute session will have a focus and will be $20 per swimmer. Visit Stroke Clinics to sign up for a session. Stroke Clinics with Madi
Green & White Meet: Our first meet is next Thursday! The Green & White meet is an intersquad meet to get us warmed up and ready for a real meet. Anyone is welcome to sign up to attend it. It's a great way to see what a meet looks like and for all of our swimmers to race and get some times recorded. Please RSVP for the meet no later than Tuesday, June 3rd at noon. It takes our coaches a significant amount of time to put a lineup together for a meet. Please try to get your RSVPs as accurate as possible- we know that things pop up such as illnesses, but would like to limit last minute changes as they impact many other swimmers.
While you are signing up, go ahead and sign up for our June 10th meet versus Village Green. We'd like everyone signed up by Sunday June 8th at noon. We will also have team pictures at Village Green, and we'd love as many swimmers there for pictures and the meet as possible!
Coaches on Deck & Shout Outs: To allow for the best experience for your child, please do not approach the coaches while they are coaching on deck. If you have questions for the coaches, feel free to chat with them after practices, but we'd like to keep them focused on your kids during the practice. You can also email any questions to [email protected]. If you have shout outs or ideas for any coaches, we'd love to hear that as well! Our coaches get energized and refueled by hearing from you! Fun Friday Donuts: On Fridays, we try to incorporate a little bit more fun to end our week. One of the fun things we do is have donuts available for the kids. Donuts are $1 per donut. The coaches will have a little table set up after each practice with donuts!
Merchandise: We have our 2nd round of Pokeys orders open now. If you'd like to order a shirt, please go to the link below. Link will close June 4th.

Sponsorships: Last call for any sponsors for the season! We try to keep our fees as low as possible, and one way we can do that, as well as to provide extra fun items and equipment for the team, is by having sponsorships. We have multiple sponsorship levels available starting at $250. If you are interested or want further information, please email us at [email protected]. It's a great way to advertise to hundreds of families as well!
Parking Lot Paving: The club will be having the parking lot paved on Tuesday, June 3rd. It will impact only the lower parking lot in front of the pool (Fixing the buckled areas). Please be prepared to park in the upper lot that morning and note that there will be less parking than normal.
Thanks!
GMST
