    GMST Week 8

Great job at City Meet this weekend! We took home 3rd place overall and we claimed our League 1 Regular Season Championship. Even though City is over there are still plenty of opportunities for us to improve over the next two weeks.

8 & Under Meet: Parents of all 8 & Unders, you do not want to miss this meet! Every swimmer, no matter the skill level, can attend this meet and it is the perfect opportunity for your swimmer to show off their new skills in the pool. This is a very relaxed event (compared to normal meets). We try to fill most volunteer roles with senior swimmers, but we may need you to fill in some holes if you can. Come ready to cheer on your swimmer and jump in to volunteer where needed. Be sure to register your swimmer online by Monday if you plan to attend. The meet will start at 5:30 pm. Because of this meet we will not have evening practice on Tuesday.

League 1 Fun Meet: On Thursday night we will have a fun meet with Beaver Brook and KRC. This meet is a more relaxed version of a dual meet. Swimmers will be able to swim whatever events they want and we will have fun relays, games, and candy. Please try and sign up by Wednesday for this meet so we know how many swimmers we plan on having. This meet will be hosted by KRC in Knoxville. There will also be no evening practice on Thursday because of this meet.

Sugarwood Dual Meet: Our last dual meet is next Tuesday on July 23rd. The theme is Adam Sandler Night. This meet is a celebration of our seniors and will also be a celebration of our league championship (and hopefully an undefeated season). This meet is our last of the season so we want to go out on a high note and treat it as a championship meet for all our swimmers that didn't go to City Meet.

End-of-Season Banquet: Next Thursday, July 25th is our end-of-season banquet. This will be hosted at the pool. It should be similar to the pool party with food, drink, and awards.

Lastly, I would like to send a thank you to all our parents who volunteered this weekend. Also, thank you to all the parents who donated food and drinks to keep the coaches happy throughout the weekend.
