Hello GMST Parents,

The Green & White Meet was so much fun. Go GREEN Team!!!  The competition was close and the swimmers all did amazing. A ton of swimmers will go home with Personal Best ribbons, which is the real win. And thank you to all the volunteers that stepped up to help make our meet run smoothly. If you were not able to jump in last night, you’ll get another chance in just a week when we host the Beaver Brook Blue Fins on Thursday, June 15. Be sure to declare your swimmer and sign up to volunteer. The deadline to declare is Monday, June 12 at noon for both this meet and our meet on Monday, June 19 at Fox Den.

Field Day
Field Day is coming up this Friday! Be sure to register so we can place you on a team. Each team will be led by one of our coaches where teams will travel to different stations, completing each game or activity. This year our field day is being held on the Alcoa High School Football Field from 9am to 11am. Be sure to wear tennis shoes, bring a water bottle, and have a towel just in case. There will be no regular practices at the pool on Friday.

Parents, we will need a lot of volunteers to help make this a fun event. Littles are welcome to hang with you and even help! We need parents to manage each station, keep the water cooler filled, and pass out ice pops. If you are willing to help, please register to volunteer.

Smoky Mountain Invitational (SMI)
SMI is a large championship meet, like City Meet, that is designed for non-USA swimmers only. It is hosted just around the corner from us at Springbrook Pool. This will be the first year (in a long time) that GMST will be participating, and we would love to take as many swimmers as possible!! Here are the details:

Date: July 8 & 9
                Saturday - 11 and up
                Sunday - 10 and under
Cost: $20 per swimmer
RSVP by: Wednesday, June 21 at noon

GMST Pool Party
Don’t forget to mark your calendar for Sunday, June 25 for our GMST Pool Party. We’ll have pizza, a DJ, and everyone is invited to hang in the pool….parents too. The fun begins at 6:30pm!
