GMST Olympics: 

We will host our first ever GMST Olympics on Thursday, July 2nd. We are planning for the following schedule. 

8 & Under: 4:30-5:45

9-10 and 11-12: 6:00-7:15

13-14 and 15-18: 7:30-8:30

We are still planning all of the activities that will take place, but it will include swimming individual events with some fun events mixed in to give each swimmer a break. For example, we may do the 25/50 Freestyle, and then have a cannonball contest or a hula-hoop contest as our next event. The coaches will work on planning the events and timelines over the next few days. If anyone has any great ideas for things we should do in our first ever Olympics, we'd love to hear them! 

Please sign up to attend the meet and to volunteer for it on our website- gmst.swimtopia.com. Signing up for practice on Thursday morning does NOT constitute signing up for the meet. 

Remaining Meets:

Please plan for meets on Thursday, July 9 and Thursday, July 16 against Village Green and Knoxville Raquet Club, respectively. These meets will feel similar to the Green & White meet in format. We are tentatively looking at the following schedule for those meets:

8 and under: 4:30-5:30

9-10 and 11-12: 5:45-7:00

13-14 and 15-18: 7:15-8:15

More details will be sent out prior to the meets. We will be incorporating some breaks between each event as a learning from our Green & White meet to allow kids to get some rest between events! 

Flying Dolphins Meet: Please tentatively hold Tuesday, July 21 on your calendar for a meet against the Flying Dolphins. We are working out final details and confirming this date, but we are hoping for a "Blount County Championship" to round out our summer! 

The last day of Practice will be Friday, July 24th. 

GKAISA 2020 T-Shirts- $15:

Greater Knoxville Area Interclub Swimming Association (GKAISA) is offering the annual league shirt for $15. Picture of shirt provided in link below. This 2020 season each league will have it’s own shirt with each registered swimmer from the league on the back of shirt by team. Proceeds from the shirts support GKAISA scholarships awarded to college bound seniors.

To purchase a $15.00 shirt, please email Eric Bellah ([email protected]) your swimmer’s name, number of shirts and sizes by Friday, July 3 at 12:00pm. Please make checks to GMST and “GKAISA shirt” in memo line. GMST will cut a check to GKAISA. If you pay with cash, please include note with your name, number of shirts, and size(s). Money must be given to coach or board volunteer to put in GMST safe by Friday, July 3.
