Green & White Meet
Happy Wednesday GMST! See below for news and a few updates.
Green & White Meet:
This is a little late notice, but we are flying by the seat of our pants this summer! We have decided to attempt our Green & White meet on Tuesday, June 16th. We will be splitting the meet into age groups, with each age group coming for a short period of time and then leaving. Please see below for the designated times. This is a trial run to see if this will work for future "virtual" meets, so please be patient with us!
- 8 and under: 4:30-5:15 (limited to 40 swimmers)
- 9-10: 5:30-6:15 (limited to 40 swimmers)
- 11-12 and 13-14: 6:30-7:30
- 15-18: 7:45-8:45
We have posted this meet on the website for you to sign your swimmer up to swim. We have also posted volunteer positions by age group that are needed. The list of volunteers is much smaller than a normal meet to try to minimize people on deck, but because we are dividing the shifts by age group, we will need just as many people to help out.
During the meet, we are asking that swimmers come inside the fence, but parents should watch the meet from the bleachers or outside of the fence unless you are volunteering. This will help us with social distancing as we try to find a plan to maintain distancing while running the meet.
Future Meets:
We are working to get some other virtual meets scheduled with other teams in GKAISA currently. We are aiming for our first meet to be Thursday, June 25th (if we can find an opponent). We will share those dates as soon as we know more.
T-Shirts:
Pokey's has opened the t-shirt portal up for anyone that missed the deadline. It will be open until tomorrow morning (June 11) at 10am. Please get your orders in! https://greenmeadow2020.
Caps:
We have made the decision not to order any latex or silicon caps this season. Caps generally take a month to create and ship to us, and given that we didn't know what our season looked like, we did not order them when we normally would have. We have plenty of latex caps from prior seasons. If your swimmer needs a latex cap, we will be happy to give you one. For those of you that paid for the silicon caps, we will be refunding your money.
As always, please email us with any questions at [email protected]. Thanks!
