    city meet

    Hello GMST families,

This is a long email but imperative you read all the contents!!!

City meet is approaching fast. You must declare your swimmers by Wednesday July 18th. Your swimmer must have participated in 2 meets to be eligible. Entries are due this week and our coaches must know your intent. Please be 100% positive you are going to swim if you declare. Each entry costs money and relays depend upon the children who have declared.

We will have to provide workers for this meet. GKAISA dictates our positions and typically sends out assignments on Monday prior to the meet. We will be fined if we do not fill our positions.

11 and ups swim on Friday, 10 and unders swim on Saturday and finals will be on Sunday. Finals are the top 16 qualifiers in each event. Please consider the possibility of Sunday swimming when you sign up. Your child may not make an individual final but could definitely be on a relay for finals. You should plan on each session being an all day event. Warm ups begin at 7:40 each morning. We will receive our warm up time in the next few days. The meet officially starts at 9:00.

Parking will be offered for $5 in the garage across from Allan Jones Aquatic center. If you leave and come back you will pay again. UT is dictating this and gets all the money. Free parking is offered at the metro building on Kingston Pike which is approximately 1 mile away. You may unload in front of the old Student Aquatic Center in the right hand lane, not in front of Allan Jones.

Parents are NOT allowed on the pool deck. Your child will report to clerk of course. You may escort them to the entrance of clerk of course.

Make sure you bring sufficient snacks and water for yourself and your child. There is a concession stand inside the Aquatic Center and may have food trucks available also but it is always a good idea to be prepared.

I will be sending more info as the details come in. If you have any questions please email me.

    Let's go GREEN WAVE!
