Great first meet
Wow, what a great first night! I hope everyone enjoyed the green and white meet. Our coaches did an excellent job of getting our kiddos ready and where they needed to be. It was so awesome to see Coach Taylor dive in and coach Emily in the water swimming along with the 8 and unders. We are fortunate to have such an amazing set of coaches and junior coaches. A huge thanks to all the volunteers tonight and especially Debbie McRory, our starter who keeps the meet moving, we are so lucky to have her, she is the best in GKAISA. And also to Eric Bellah, who wore many hats.
Tomorrow is Fun Friday and the theme is tye dye.
At next weeks meet it is imperative that all kids sit under the structure, especially 10 and unders. The coaches and tent parents are trying to get them lined up for events and it is easier if they are all in one place. The coaches do not have time to look for your child and the tent parents do not necessarily know all the kids. This is especially important for gathering relays.
If you did not get a chance to pick up your team shirts that were ordered during registration, Alisha Stanley will be passing them out at the end of 11 and up practice and throughout the 10 and under practice. If you did not order one, we will have a few extra but only after all ordered ones have been distributed.
Tonight is the cutoff for Pokey's online ordering for extra spirit wear.
Next weeks meet workers will work in 2 shifts. All shifts must be filled and parents are required to work 2 shifts this season. If you have a question about a job, please feel free to ask. Most of the jobs are very easy.
If you anyone is interested in becoming stroke and turn certified the class is Sunday at 5 at Green Meadow. Again, if you have questions, please ask.
Let's keep swimming fast. Go green wave.
